Klavadabra reads keystrokes the way every Mac text utility has to — but it doesn't store them, send them, or learn from them. Counters live on disk; your words don't.

Q/01 What macOS permissions does Klavadabra need? +
Two: Accessibility (so we can read which app has focus and replace your selection) and Input Monitoring (so the shortcut works system-wide). We never request Full Disk Access, Screen Recording, or Network. The first launch walks you through both in System Settings.
Q/02 Does Klavadabra log what I type? +
No. Counts and aggregates live on disk — the actual keystrokes don't. The Impact dashboard's "recent examples" panel is local, capped at 20 entries, and filters sensitive-looking text. You can clear it from the Impact stats controls.
Q/03 Which languages besides EN ↔ RU are supported? +
EN ↔ RU is the focus and what we've tuned the auto-fix model on. Layout-only conversion also works for any keyboard pair you have installed (UK, US-International, Ukrainian ЙЦУКЕН, etc.) — just turn it on under Settings → General → Layouts. Quality is best for EN/RU because we ship a Russian word-frequency dictionary.
Q/04 What counts toward the free 100 auto-fixes? +
Only fixes triggered automatically count. Manual fixes, selection fixes, and undos never count. The counter resets on the 1st of every month.
Q/05 What happens at 100 / 100 on the free plan? +
Auto-fix pauses for the rest of the month. Manual fixes keep working, unlimited. Klavadabra shows a small banner at the top of the menu bar app — you can dismiss it, or upgrade in two clicks. Nothing breaks; nothing nags you twice.
Q/06 Will Klavadabra interfere with code editors or terminals? +
By default, auto-fix is disabled in Xcode, VS Code, Terminal, iTerm, and Ghostty. Manual fixes still work if you ever want them. You can edit the disabled-app list in Settings → Apps.
Q/07 Does it work on Apple Silicon? On older Macs? +
Universal binary — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel. Minimum macOS is 13 Ventura. The app is ~8 MB and idles around 14 MB of RAM.
